Wick Heritage Museum

Visiting Caithness this summer? a visit to Wick Heritage Museum is a must if you are looking to learn more about the towns history.

 

The Museum’s photographic gallery displays many examples of Johnston Photographs – both studio portraits and local events.

The Wick Society is also building an archive of films relating to the fishing industry, both herring and white fish. It holds historic films of local events such as the annual Herring Queen Celebrations.

The Wick Heritage Museum contains a number of fully furnished rooms that are typical of between 1900 and 1925. These rooms contain a vast array of household items, furnishings, from the traditional box bed to authentic Caithness chairs.

Learn more about Caithness Glass or examine the inner workings of Noss Head Lighthouse. The museum is sure to occupy you for a couple of hours.
